From Lens to Legacy

A Trezor fine art print is more than just a photograph; it is a meticulously crafted object designed to endure for generations. My process combines the precision of modern digital technology with the time-honored traditions of museum-grade printmaking.

The Vision & Capture

Every work begins in the field. Whether I am waiting for the perfect “blue hour” light over the Overberg or chasing the raw Atlantic swell at Melkbos, my goal is to capture a moment of stillness in the South African landscape.

  • High-Resolution Precision: Using state-of-the-art medium format and high-resolution sensors, I ensure that even the largest 1.5-meter prints retain razor-sharp detail, from the texture of a fynbos petal to the distant grain of mountain sandstone.

  • The “Slow” Approach: I often return to the same location dozens of times, waiting for the precise intersection of tide, weather, and light that elevates a scene into art.

The Paper

For our Limited Edition prints, we have chosen a paper that is legendary in the art world: Hahnemühle German Etching (310gsm).

All our Open Editions are printed on Felix Schoeller True Rag Etching 310gsm

  • The Feel: This is a heavyweight, mold-made copperplate paper. It has a signature velvety, tactile feel and a fine felt structure.
  • The Depth: The unique texture of this paper adds a three-dimensional depth to the landscape, making the shadows look richer and the highlights softer.
  • The Standard: It is 100% alpha-cellulose, acid-free, and lignin-free, meeting the highest museum standards for age resistance (ISO 9706).

We use the Giclée (pronounced zee-klay) process, which is the gold standard for fine art reproduction.

The Human Touch

Technology only goes so far; the final stage is always personal.

  • Bespoke Inspection: Every print is custom-ordered and hand-inspected under color-corrected lighting. If a single pixel is out of place or the ink density isn’t perfect, the print is destroyed and started again.

  • The Artist’s Hand: For Limited Editions, I personally sign and number the white border of each print. This is my final seal of approval, certifying that the work meets my exact standards before it is registered in the gallery archives.
